About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Operation:
Safely operate a tri-axle dump truck, following all local, state, and federal traffic laws and safety regulations. Ensure proper loading and unloading of materials.
Material Transport:
Transport a variety of materials, including gravel, sand, dirt, and other construction materials, to and from designated job sites in a timely and efficient manner.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of yourself and others on the job site. Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in good working condition and report any maintenance issues to the Operations Manager.
Route Planning & Coordination:
Follow designated routes to transport materials, ensuring timely arrivals and efficient delivery. Communicate with dispatchers or supervisors to coordinate any changes in schedule or delivery locations.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including times, locations, and quantities of materials transported. Ensure that all necessary paperwork, such as delivery tickets or logs, is completed and submitted accurately.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Conduct routine inspections of the truck, including checking tires, brakes, oil levels, and other critical components. Ensure that the truck is maintained and in proper working order to avoid breakdowns and delays.
Customer Service:
Interact with customers and construction site personnel in a professional and courteous manner. Address any customer concerns or questions regarding deliveries promptly and efficiently.
Environmental Responsibility:
Ensure that all activities adhere to environmental standards, including proper handling of materials and waste disposal.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a tri-axle dump truck.
Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety standards.
Ability to lift, load, and unload materials safely.
Familiarity with local roads, routes, and construction sites.
Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions and environments.
Good time management and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
Ability to lift and carry heavy materials as needed.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including loading and unloading materials, and conducting vehicle inspections.
Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform work in outdoor environments.
